Fiestas Agostinas

The Agostinas Fiestas are you celebrate August 6, are dedicated to the patron saint, “El Salvador del Mundo”, also called. The Agostinas holidays are the most important festivities in San Salvador, El Salvador.

In these religious, recreational and commercial activities which usually last a week in the capital city are made.

The main attraction is the traditional “Bajada” or procession of the patron saint of the World El Salvador which makes a journey through the main streets of San Salvador representing the transfiguration of Jesus Christ.

The Agostinas Festivals are a celebration that dates from 1528, and in the early years the celebration was civic, religious and military and then evolved to a fair.
